What's actually true

NEET gates MBBS, dentistry, AYUSH and veterinary science — and nothing else. A very large part of the health workforce is admitted in Kerala on Plus Two marks alone, through the LBS Centre, with no entrance exam: nursing, medical lab technology, radiography, optometry, physiotherapy, audiology, perfusion and cardiovascular technology, and more.

These are licensed, respected, Gulf-portable clinical careers. A student set on healthcare who does not clear NEET has not lost healthcare; they have lost one specific door out of many. Knowing that in advance takes the life-or-death pressure off the result.

What to do instead

If your child wants a clinical career, plan NEET and a marks-based allied-health backup in the same breath. The backup is not a defeat — for many students it is the better-fitting, faster, equally secure path. Decide it calmly before the result, not in panic after it.
