A few doors genuinely are age-gated, so the fear isn't baseless. The mistake is generalising from those few to all of them, and ruling yourself out of open doors far more often than closed ones.
What's actually true
Know the real limits rather than the imagined ones. Government exams have specific, often generous age ceilings — the UPSC Civil Services, for instance, allows attempts well beyond 25, with higher limits and more attempts for reserved categories, and many state and central posts stretch further still. Outside the age-gated exams, most of the job market — private roles, skills, business, further study — has no meaningful age wall at 25 at all.
